A Closer Look At The Sport 3

  • Weight & Handling Efficiency

As the lightest glider in its class, the Sport 3 offers an effortless feel both on the ground and in the air. Its low overall weight improves launch confidence, reduces pilot fatigue during setup and carry, and supports smooth, responsive roll initiation.

Paired with its well-balanced pitch behavior, the Sport 3 delivers an intuitive, predictable handling profile that suits relaxed soaring as well as more performance-focused flying.

  • Aerodynamic Features

A redesigned sail and stability system create a tighter, flatter wing that reduces twist and allows lower sprog settings. The result is stronger high-speed performance with a lighter, more comfortable pitch feel. Optional carbon-fiber raked tips further increase effective aspect ratio and reduce induced drag, enhancing climb and glide efficiency at lower speeds. These refinements work together to provide a crisp, controlled response across the full VG range.

VG, or Variable Geometry, is a system found on many intermediate and high-performance hang gliders. It allows the pilot to adjust the tension of the sail while flying, which changes how the glider handles and performs.

  • “VG off” (looser sail):
The glider feels lighter and more responsive. This setting is ideal for thermalling, slow-speed maneuvering, and relaxed soaring.
  • “VG on” (tighter sail):
The wing becomes more streamlined, improving glide performance and allowing higher speeds with less drag.

The VG range refers to the full spectrum of these settings—from completely loose to fully tight—and how the glider’s handling and performance shift across that range. It gives pilots the ability to fine-tune their flight experience depending on conditions and goals.

  • Airframe & Hardware:

The Sport 3’s airframe introduces expanded tuning options that let pilots fine-tune control feel to match sail age, flying style, and personal preference. Its updated Variable Geometry system delivers more authority with less effort, while the included Kickstand Stinger makes setup and breakdown quicker and more convenient. Standard features include a black-anodized airframe, speed battens, and customizable panel colors, with optional upgrades available for pilots who want additional performance or visual style.
